The countdown is on

In just three short weeks, I’m am due to begin a two-month sabbatical from my pastoral position at King Road Church. I’m completing my 11th year of consecutive ministry, and am excited for this change of pace.

  1. a period of paid leave granted to a college teacher [pastor] for study or travel, traditionally every seventh year.

You may be wondering what I will be focused on for these two months. One component will be professional development. I’m registered for the annual Regent College Pastor’s Conference. I also plan to audit 1-2 courses at Acts Seminary. Feel free to check out the list of courses and guess which ones I’m interested in.

Another portion of my time will be spending time with other pastors (and churches) in order to learn and collaborate. I want to spend time asking “How do you approach                  ?” Any suggestions of what to ask?

And, I am scheduling in time for rest and recreation. I want to read some books. I want to do some writing. I want to ride my bike (a lot)!

As a way of sharing my experience and insights, I plan to update this section of my website regularly. If you wish to be notified of any sabbatical updates, please feel free to sign up.

Thanks for your support and encouragement. I appreciate your interest.

  1. Sure hope you enjoy all the sabatical has to offer
to help recharge you. I am glad to see both
formal and informal education and relaxation.
